About Dr. Lane
Dr. Lane has been licensed as a clinical psychologist by the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1989. He received his Ph.D. in Counseling-Clinical Psychology from the Catholic University of America with an APA Accredited Residency in Clinical Psychology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He received further training in Forensic Psychology at the University of Virginia Institute of Law, Psychiatry, and Public Policy.
Following graduate school, between 1982 and 1989, Dr. Lane was the Court Psychologist at the 31st Judicial District of Virginia Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. Initially in Burke and subsequently in Vienna, Virginia, Dr. Lane has maintained a private practice in Clinical and Forensic Psychology since 1989. His specialties are the evaluation and treatment of children, adults, couples, and families and, at the request of judges, attorneys, and clients, he has regularly provided expert witness services in the area of family law in Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Maryland as well as in the federal court system.
A member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and a former member of the Board of Directors of that organization's Maryland Chapter, Dr. Lane has presented both nationally and regionally on clinical and forensic issues.
Currently in full-time private practice, Dr. Lane recognizes the critical needs of families in transition, especially those involved in high-conflict separation and divorce processes. He provides individual, couples, and family treatment as well as psychological and forensic evaluation services in both general clinical and family law domains.
